So you have made a decision to purchase a new trailer and have some peace-of-mind that your trailer is under warranty. But what does that really mean? First, you need to know that all new trailer sales at Trailer Superstore are backed by the manufacturer’s warranty and many times the service work can be handled right at the Mechanicsburg, PA location. In addition, all of our top-of-the-line manufacturers build their products right here in the United States and are members of the National Association of Trailer Manufacturers (NATM) which is dedicated to improving trailer safety and performance.

What is the Warranty Period?

The warranty period can be anywhere from 1 to 5 years from the date of purchase and is manufacturer and model specific. It is important to understand if your trailer has a complete or limited warranty, as it will affect what items are covered. Most warranties cover defects in material and workmanship.

What is Warranty Validation?

A warranty registration certificate is attached to each new trailer. You must fill it out and mail this certificate to the manufacturer within 10 days after purchase of the trailer. This record is required by federal law and failure to fill out the paperwork within the 10 days will void your warranty.

What Isn’t Covered by a Trailer Warranty?

The items listed below are not usually covered under warranty:

  • Axles and axle components
  • Tires
  • Rims
  • Roof Material
  • Plywood
  • Adhesives and Sealants
  • Brake components
  • Springs and suspension components
  • Couplers and jacks
  • Fasteners and
  • Lights

How Do I Service My Trailer Under the Warranty?

Work will either occur at the manufacturer’s location or at a qualified repair shop or trailer dealer. All warranty requests must be presented to your authorized dealer and proper arrangements must be made and approved by the trailer manufacturer prior to any work being done. Lack of authorization may result in unpaid claims. Usually, you will receive a warranty approval number that you will use when submitting invoices.
